January 5th Daily Outfit

  • Black beret – found on fence post in Ann Arbor, MI
  • Joan of Arc St. Medallion
  • Creme crochet sweater – Buffalo Exchange
  • Black belt – Goodwill
  • Slate gray pleated skirt – bought as part of “church attire” when I was in the 8th grade
  • Black stockings
  • Black Mary Jane work shoes
  • Simon, the stray cat

What is the fancy lady’s version of the ponytail? The beret, of course! Here I am at 7:15am before working in the ice cream parlor. Isn’t Simon a cutie? He’s a neighborhood stray that I let in from time to time. He likes to sleep on my electric blanket when it gets below 35F, which, thankfully, isn’t very often.

  1. I am so glad you are posting your daily outfits again! You have a great style and an amazing ability to mix and match pieces in your wardrobe. You are such an inspiration. I really do mean it! In the area where I live (San Jose, CA), there is hardly any inspiration for creative dressing on the streets; there are just plain t-shirts and shorts in the summer, sweats in the winter, and flip-flops year around 😦 I missed your outfit posts, because they are stylish, creative and truly inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
I also love the idea of your blog – I also try to live more holistically and closer to nature.
Good luck to you with all your endeavors!

  2. I also wanted to add another thought: there are many vintage blogs out there, and I too, dress vintage, but your style is special in a way that the way you wear your clothes and mix and match them is so EFFORTLESS. Your style does not look contrived, forced or “staged”. It seems like a second skin and you feel good in it. How do you do that? 🙂
